Sardinia has almost two thousand kilometres of coast: a maritime geography that shaped the character of its people as much as the inland mountains. The Onde patent is our homage to that world.
A fixed blade of 12.5 cm, with the handle’s shape — undulating and sinuous, modelled by hand — recalling the curve of a wave. It is a movement felt under the fingers, not only seen. The blade is broad, with work along the spine inspired by the sea. Also available in a variant with a serrated spine.

Materials and personalisation.
Every example of this model can be personalised with any material — steels, woods, horns, ivories, precious metals. The combinations below are the ones the maison's devotees choose most often, offered here as inspiration.
Damascus steel
Layered Damascus steel, worked with repeated temperings. The pattern is unique to each blade, like a fingerprint.
Snakewood
Rare, unique marbling like a snake's skin. Limited pieces.
Acacia
Hard veined wood, warm to the touch. Patinas over time.
Fossil ivory
Fossilised ivory. A legal material, rare and sought-after, accompanied by a certificate.
Mouflon horn
The horn of Sardinia's emblem animal. Hand-worked, keeps its natural curve.

About this piece
How is a Giagu Onde commissioned?
Every Onde begins with a conversation. You write to the Giagu workshop describing the materials, the dimensions and the occasion, and the maison guides you through the configurations available. Lead time is six to twelve months from confirmation. Every finished piece comes with a paper certificate signed by the family.
Is the Onde a numbered piece?
Every Giagu Onde is engraved with the mouflon mark and the words GIAGU PATTADA. Each order carries its own number, identifying it in the maison's internal archive from 1985 onward. The mark, for its part, stays with the piece forever.
What is the warranty on the Onde?
Every Giagu Onde is guaranteed for ten years from the date of delivery. Sharpening is free for the lifetime of the knife, at the Pattada workshop or by post.
