The story of the model

The Sardinian sword.

This Leppa e Chintu is the exact reproduction of one of the historic Leppas of the 1800s on display at the Museo Culter.

A 48 cm blade, 60 cm in all, handle in mouflon horn with natural grooves and brass rivets. Technically among the most complex pieces the maison makes, for size and workmanship: tempering a blade this long and arched calls for very precise thermal control.

A museum piece for a private collection.

About this piece

How is a Giagu Leppa e Chintu commissioned?
Every Leppa e Chintu begins with a conversation. You write to the Giagu workshop describing the materials, the dimensions and the occasion, and the maison guides you through the configurations available. Lead time is six to twelve months from confirmation. Every finished piece comes with a paper certificate signed by the family.
Is the Leppa e Chintu a numbered piece?
Every Giagu Leppa e Chintu is engraved with the mouflon mark and the words GIAGU PATTADA. Each order carries its own number, identifying it in the maison's internal archive from 1985 onward. The mark, for its part, stays with the piece forever.
What is the warranty on the Leppa e Chintu?
Every Giagu Leppa e Chintu is guaranteed for ten years from the date of delivery. Sharpening is free for the lifetime of the knife, at the Pattada workshop or by post.
