The story of the model

From the old form, a contemporary line.

This model has been in production at our maison since 1995 — at first it was called “Foggia 95”, made specially to celebrate ten years of work.

It draws on the Foggia Antica: the same type and the same purpose, but reinterpreted with softened lines. A broad blade in AISI 420C or Damascus. The handle is mostly in ram or mouflon horn, as tradition has it, at times in wood and, for the more collectible pieces, in fossil ivory.

The model is available both as a 9 cm fixed blade and as an 8 cm folder, with or without a ring. The folder is also requested in a 5 cm “mignon” version.

Made for those who seek a sturdy tool, with softer lines.

Common questions

About this piece

How is a Giagu Foggia Nuova commissioned?
Every Foggia Nuova begins with a conversation. You write to the Giagu workshop describing the materials, the dimensions and the occasion, and the maison guides you through the configurations available. Lead time is six to twelve months from confirmation. Every finished piece comes with a paper certificate signed by the family.
Is the Foggia Nuova a numbered piece?
Every Giagu Foggia Nuova is engraved with the mouflon mark and the words GIAGU PATTADA. Each order carries its own number, identifying it in the maison's internal archive from 1985 onward. The mark, for its part, stays with the piece forever.
What is the warranty on the Foggia Nuova?
Every Giagu Foggia Nuova is guaranteed for ten years from the date of delivery. Sharpening is free for the lifetime of the knife, at the Pattada workshop or by post.
