Damascus steel
Layered Damascus steel, worked with repeated temperings. The pattern is unique to each blade, like a fingerprint.
The Culter — Latin for ‘knife’ — is our own personal signature within the Pattadese tradition. It is not a classical model and reproduces no existing historical form, but our contemporary interpretation of the myrtle leaf, made in a limited run.
Three hundred examples in all, evenly divided between a 9 cm fixed blade and a 10 cm folder. Each knife carries its progressive number and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by hand. Once the run is exhausted, the model will no longer be reproducible.
Each piece is unique. Below, some exemplars realized by the workshop — every combination of materials is a starting point for a new commission.
Write to us from this page with the model reference already filled in. We will guide you through materials, proportions and timing of your piece - by commission, never from a catalogue.
Every example of this model can be personalised with any material — steels, woods, horns, ivories, precious metals. The combinations below are the ones the maison's devotees choose most often, offered here as inspiration.
