The Antico, in folding form.
The Antico Serramanico is the folding version of the Antico Lama Fissa patent. The same blade shape, the same identity, with a closing mechanism that lets the knife be carried in the pocket.
The pronounced ring at the base of the blade marks out its edge and makes it instantly distinctive.
It lends itself to precious finishes — fossil ivory and mouflon horn for the handle, a ring in gold filigree worked by Sardinian master goldsmiths, Damascus steel for the blade: every example is fully customisable.
It is one of the pieces most present in the maison’s international private collections.

Every example of this model can be personalised with any material — steels, woods, horns, ivories, precious metals. The combinations below are the ones the maison's devotees choose most often, offered here as inspiration.
Damascus steel
Layered Damascus steel, worked with repeated temperings. The pattern is unique to each blade, like a fingerprint.
Fossil ivory
Fossilised ivory. A legal material, rare and sought-after, accompanied by a certificate.
Gold filigree
Fine threads interwoven freehand, in the Sardinian goldsmith tradition.
Mouflon horn
The horn of Sardinia's emblem animal. Hand-worked, keeps its natural curve.

About this piece
How is a Giagu Antico Folding commissioned?
Every Antico Folding begins with a conversation. You write to the Giagu workshop describing the materials, the dimensions and the occasion, and the maison guides you through the configurations available. Lead time is six to twelve months from confirmation. Every finished piece comes with a paper certificate signed by the family.
Is the Antico Folding a numbered piece?
Every Giagu Antico Folding is engraved with the mouflon mark and the words GIAGU PATTADA. Each order carries its own number, identifying it in the maison's internal archive from 1985 onward. The mark, for its part, stays with the piece forever.
What is the warranty on the Antico Folding?
Every Giagu Antico Folding is guaranteed for ten years from the date of delivery. Sharpening is free for the lifetime of the knife, at the Pattada workshop or by post.
