The folding knife is the most recognisable signature of Pattadese cutlery. In the first half of the nineteenth century, the workshops of the village invented the mechanism that allows the blade to close inside the handle — a knife to carry in the pocket, to draw only when needed, to keep out of sight. From that gesture comes the Resolza, the model that made Pattada known across the world.
In the Giagu maison, the folding knife is the broadest category in the catalogue: eight numbered archetypes, each born of a commission lasting six to twelve months. The Resolza with its myrtle-leaf shape, the Antico in its folding rendition, and five of the 1991 patents that live in this form — Onde, Foglia, Elica, Torciglione and Foggia Antica.
Below you find every Giagu folder currently in production. Each piece is numbered by hand, accompanied by the paper certificate of the maison, guaranteed ten years with sharpening for life.

For those approaching collecting for the first time, the folding knife is often the natural choice — it slips into a pocket, accompanies the day, lends itself to the ceremony of opening before guests. For those already within the maison, each of these models can be configured in noble materials: damascus of two hundred layers, 18kt gold in Sardinian filigree, fossil ivory, selected mouflon horn.
