The fixed blade is the oldest structure in Sardinian cutlery. Before the nineteenth-century invention of the folding mechanism, every Pattadese knife was a fixed blade carried in a leather sheath, at the belt. The shepherd who skinned, the hunter who worked the game, the artisan who carved the cork — all with the same family of blades, in the shape of a myrtle leaf.
In the Giagu maison, the fixed blade is the most decisive and identitarian form. Seven archetypes currently in production: the Antico in its fixed version, the Muflone — double-edged dagger, symbol of Sardinia, the Onde with the curve of the sea, the Corrina fixed blade that reconstructs the eighteenth-century Pattadese knife, and three models from the Kitchen and Chef line.
Below you find every Giagu fixed-blade knife in production. Each piece is numbered by hand, accompanied by the paper certificate, guaranteed ten years with sharpening for life.

The fixed blade is the choice of the experienced collector, of those who seek a knife for display or a ceremonial piece. Its aesthetic strength lies in the continuity of material — blade, tang, handle — interpreted as a single sculpture. It is also the preferred form for the most articulated configurations in damascus two hundred layers, with bolsters in Sardinian silver, gold filigree or fossil ivory.
